This year’s holidays may feel and look different, but that shouldn’t stop us from making it meaningful. Even as COVID cases continue to surge in our community, there are still plenty of reasons to celebrate and be merry this holiday season.
Vaccines are now starting to roll out, and we owe it to ourselves to enjoy the little victories we’ve earned over the past nine months. While all of us still have a lot of work left to do before we’re entirely in the clear, it’s news like this that should make us all hopeful and optimistic for the year ahead. However, even as we celebrate the holidays, it’s still essential to
follow safety protocols so we can all welcome the new year safe, healthy, and happy.
How should you spread holiday cheer without spreading the virus as well? These five remote party tips will help you have a fun, meaningful, safe celebration with your loved ones:
With COVID cases still on the rise here in Sacramento, we strongly advise you to keep your parties virtual and limit your interactions within your household. As tempting as it is to go out with friends and family, safety should still be your number one priority. So rather than putting yourself and your family at risk, host a virtual party instead.
Although not as intimate as face-to-face interactions, there are still plenty of ways to spice up a virtual get-together. From exchanging gifts and online games to making a seasonal toast, all you need is a little bit of creativity to make your holidays fun and memorable.
In line with limiting your interactions to your bubble, rather than exchanging gifts personally, you can mail them to your recipients instead and open your presents on camera together. One option is to use an online secret Santa generator so you can make sure that no one knows who their mystery giver is.
Who doesn’t love a round of friendly competition? There are plenty of games to keep your virtual party lively and encourage interaction, but one you might not have thought of is online bingo. You can even up the ante with prizes so everyone will have something to compete for. Plus, bingo is a game everyone can play, so no one gets left out.
Let’s not forget that the holidays are more for kids than they are for adults, and a movie marathon is a great way to enjoy a fun and intimate moment with your kids this holiday season. Rather than going to the movies, you can prepare holiday-themed films for a fun night at home, instead.
You can even double the fun by inviting friends and other family members to join you through a video call. Just dim the lights and whip up some popcorn, and enjoy a safe and relaxing activity with the entire family.
Despite the pandemic, our team here at Allmed had a great virtual party this year. Our theme? An ugly sweater competition.
Even if we couldn’t celebrate with our colleagues personally, our party was still a great way to unwind and relax with each other safely. Everyone flaunted their ugliest sweaters, making the event fun and memorable.
Considering the challenges we all had to overcome this year, it’s understandable to be overly eager to close this chapter and move on to a more positive 2021. We get it because we can’t wait to put the pandemic behind us, either.
Even as we celebrate the holidays and welcome a new year, though, take a moment to step back and reflect. Perhaps the most valuable lesson the pandemic has taught us is that our health is still our most priceless possession. As we welcome 2021, let’s aim to make Sacramento healthier than it’s ever been.
From all of us here at Allmed, Happy Holidays!
